unable to be rattled or bucked.
She knows this is her waking world,
fat with waste, forehead cool,
placebo’d up and bored to the blood.
She drinks its sleep, panacea whiskey.
She loves this slothy world
but wishes she could pinch its skin,
see its eyes go wide, react, take in
a little more light.
